We are DEMON FREE!

Thanks to Rhonda all our demons, evil and foul spirits have been cast out. This should last us until next retreat, or at least until we meet at Gilberto's next week LOL. At which time we may need another exorcism.

Texas Department of Agriculture Wine Block

I didn't get to say anything on my earlier post with the pictures, because you-know-who was calling on me (you know, the other one), the one called Rex.

It was a wonderful day. Seven of the Wacky Pac Quilters were there. Three of which had blocks in the quilt. W
e had a fun time as always. Commissioner Staples presented each of the ladies that had a block in the quilt, with a certificate and a goody bag (wine glasses, Go Texan things - mouse pad, scratch pads, lint roller, closet cedar hanger and there was a bottle of Burleson Honey.

The quilt was really pretty.
The theme of the quilt this year was "Toast a Rising Star" representing the Texas Wine Industry.

I also didn't get a picture of my fellow wackies and their blocks on my first post, so here they are.

Nine Patch Quilt

I haven't blogged since February, but I FINISHED a quilt! Yea! We had a nine patch swap several years ago and I've had it set together for several years, got it quilted a couple months ago and just finished the binding. Here it is on my queen size bed. Well, it's not totally finished because I don't have a label on it yet. I know my pillows don't match. I need to make some shams and pillows to match. Or maybe I'll go to WalMart. lol

Cruise pictures

We had the most wonderful time. It was a "whirlwind" of a cruise. And we DID sew a little.

Recipe: Puff Pastry Shells

I had a box of Pepperidge Farm Puff Pastry Shells in the freezer. I had never used these before but wanted to. Couldn't find a recipe online that I liked so I made one myself. I cut a boneless, skinless chicken breats into bite size pieces and sauteed in olive oil with some chopped onion. Added some frozen vegetables (soup mix veggies), small can of mushrooms and almost all of can of Cream of Chicken Soup (Mushroom would be good too), added some mixed spices. I took the top off the puff pastry shells, put a scoop of the filling on and replaced the top of pastry. Baked until golden. It was delicious.

I removed the chain from in front of KathyE. Now it looks like the swing is not connected to the porch ceiling. ROFL

Trying Something

Instead of doing the easy thing and taking pictures of the individual blocks in this quilt, I pulled up the picture of the entire quilt in Adobe PhotoDeluxe and trimmed just the blocks. They are a little fuzzy. These blocks are all on point in the quilt so I used orientation to turn them and didn't quite get the one on the right turned. Oh well, just playing around.

Anniversary Retreat at CC

We've had a usual wonderful time this weekend. I am sorry that it is coming to an end. Everyone got a lot done, at least we laughed a lot, ate a lot and sewed a little. Rhonda made us 'post' before we could leave. I promise to do better this year in keeping my blog up to date.

Anniversary Retreat at CC

Here we are at Compass Centre celebrating the third anniversary of the opening. I finally managed to set this purple and green quilt together. Just need to add the final border when I get home.
